The Lighthouse
3D Website Experiment
An interactable lighthouse model hosted on a website
This was the final project for a web development class. My goal for the project was to learn and implement three.js with custom models.
The camera is controlled by the scroll wheel and various objects animate on click.
The project had no specific game or functionality requirements, but rather serves as an exploration of a tiny environment.
Time and rigs were limited and every animation had to loop seamlessly. Through this, creative solutions were born.
The art style was a mix of low poly and flat textures, though texture compression and light rendering messed with it a bit.
From the beginning there was this image of a lighthouse perched on a precarious island hiding a giant squid. Glad to have pulled that off.
